May 23, 2007—May 29-June 1 is the 34th Annual International Conference on Global Health in Washington, D.C.

This year’s conference theme is partnerships. Sessions will explore partnering relationships: how they are built, what they have and can deliver, and how those living in poverty and disease can best benefit. More than 2,000 health and development specialist from around the world are expected to attend.

Join CEDPA on Friday, June 1 for two panels highlighting successful partnerships that strengthened community-based health advocacy:

  • From 8:30-11:30am, CEDPA/India’s Aparajita Gogoi will discuss the White Ribbon Alliance's leadership and advocacy around maternal health issues in India as part of a special panel discussion, “Partnership Before it Was Cool.”
  • From 10:30am-12:30pm, Field Operations Associate Director Kathrin Tegenfeldt will present findings from CEDPA's work building health advocacy among Egyptian women at “Creating Change: Partnership Models for Global Advocacy.”

Partnering with women leaders and community organizations is a cornerstone of CEDPA’s approach to development. Through sub-grants and technical assistance to local partners, CEDPA strengthens community organizations for lasting change. We have awarded nearly $100 million in sub-grants to local organizations and women’s groups throughout our 30-year history.
