With your support, I have had the honor and pleasure to lead the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA) over the past five years. Together, we have reached millions of women and their families through programs in education, health, governance and leadership. And, working hand-in-hand with more than 5,000 local partners and CEDPA alumni, we have helped change policies, practices and underlying cultural norms that limit the life chances for women and girls in every corner of the world.

Incoming CEDPA President, Carol A. Peasley
Carol A. Peasley will be appointed as CEDPA’s new President.
After much thought and consideration, I have decided to step down from my position as President and CEO as of September 30 in order to spend more time with my new daughter and family. At that time, I’m pleased to announce that Carol A. Peasley will be appointed as CEDPA’s new President, stepping down from her current position as Board Chair to assume her new role. Carol recently retired from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where she had a long and successful career, serving as Counselor to the Agency and achieving the highest rank of the U.S. Foreign Service as Career Minister within USAID.

It has been a pleasure for me to work with so many of you dedicated to empowering women and girls worldwide, including our many donors, supporters, partners and alumni. I would like to extend my special appreciation to Kaval Gulhati, whose vision inspired CEDPA’s founding, and to the long service and commitment of Peggy Curlin, who helped to build CEDPA into a global organization with footprints in more than 150 countries.  It has truly been an honor to follow in their footsteps and to help to extend and fulfill their vision.

I will remain forever committed to CEDPA’s mission and work, and hope you will be, too. It is clear that improving the lives of women and girls remains as important and compelling today as when CEDPA was established over 30 years ago.
