ICPD Beyond 2014 Process Update   
March 9, 2012 – This week the civil society organization consultations for Africa were held in Accra, Ghana. This was the first of a series of regional meetings to receive input from civil society and youth stakeholders with regards to the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action and what they want to happen in 2014 and beyond. We have informally heard that the meetings went well, that there was very active participation from a wide range of civil society groups and many young people. These stakeholders now have a better understanding of the ICPD Beyond 2014 process and have pledged to do all they can to ensure that country ICPD implementation reviews are realistic and that the views and issues of vulnerable and marginalized populations are fully taken into account.
