Grants Advance Education, Reproductive HealthMarch 30, 2006—CEDPA was awarded nearly $1.1 million from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation for projects to educate adolescents in Jharkhand, India, and to engage youth and married couples in reproductive health issues in Nigeria. With partners Jharkhand State Education Department and the AIDS Control Society, CEDPA/India will promote opportunities for adolescent girls and boys to make better life choices focusing on HIV awareness, economic status, civic participation, education and employment. In Nigeria, CEDPA will focus on increasing contraceptive use and engaging men in family planning issues. |
