International Development Expert Mary McClymont Appointed to CEDPA Board of Directors

Mary C. McClymont, Member, CEDPA Board of DirectorsWASHINGTON, DC—The Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), an international non-profit organization that improves the lives of women and girls around the world, appointed Mary McClymont to its board of directors at a recent board meeting in Washington, D.C.

McClymont is a recognized expert and opinion leader on issues of international development, humanitarian relief and human rights. She has provided expert testimony and advocated on a range of critical international issues to top U.S. government and United Nations officials, including the U.S. Congress, Secretary of State, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the National Security Advisor.

Currently a consultant to major philanthropic foundations, McClymont was most recently president of InterAction, the largest alliance of U.S.-based international development and humanitarian nongovernmental organizations. She also served as a senior executive at the Ford Foundation, and as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and the American Civil Liberties Union, among other distinguished posts.

As the newest CEDPA board member, McClymont joins a distinguished group of leaders who contribute their expertise to advance CEDPA’s mission. CEDPA’s global programs increase educational opportunities for girls, ensure access to lifesaving reproductive health and HIV/AIDS information and services, and strengthen women’s leadership in their nations.

With a growing network of 5,000 alumni and partners in over 150 countries, CEDPA is building a groundswell of change agents for effective international development.
