What is RSS?What is RSS?In a technological world packed with billions of web pages, keeping up-to-date with information you want can be frustrating and time-consuming. Rather than clicking from site to site, wouldn't it be better to have the latest information on your favorite web pages available instantly? Thanks to RSS, you no longer need to continuously check these sites for updates. RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication,' a fancy way of saying that you can stay updated on new content by having all your favorite parts of the web delivered directly to you. How to get started on RSS feeds? If you use IE, the first thing you need is a news reader. Firefox and various other browsers currently have these readers installed already. There are many different versions. Some are accessed using a browser, others are downloadable applications. All allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds you want. Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is decide what content you want. For example, if you would like the latest CEDPA news, press releases, or alumni story updates, simply visit the Home page, News Site Section, or Alumni Site Section, and you will notice an orange RSS button towards the bottom left of these pages. Right-click on this link, open it in a new window, and copy the URL into your news reader. If you would like just the latest CEDPA news stories and press releases, visit the CEDPA Press Release page and right-click on the RSS button there. If you click on the button, you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader. For more information on RSS, visit Press Feed.
